  • Fitting her role as a protector, Reva's lets her excel at defending hostages in Distress encounters. This makes and prime pickups for her.
  • is a potent offensive tool as well as a defensive one. Timing it well will let you completely counter many boss patterns and deal massive damage in retaliation.
  • It is possible to deflect Hazard damage, including the impact from Timebomb's missile. This can allow you to play extremely safely in Timebomb rooms and rely on the impact damage to wipe the field.
  • It is a good habit to move as often as possible when playing the Shield kit to make use of . Spells that hit multiple tiles of a row will allow Reva to stack up while she attacks by moving left and right.
  • Reva's is also her primary damage source via so do not get careless on dodging just because you have a bit of Shield built up. Shield Throw will become a dead spell if you can't keep your Shield high.
  • will return to whichever tile the player is standing on as the attack makes contact with an enemy; this allows the player to move a tile or two after throwing without missing the catch.
    • Because you can lose all of your shield by missing Shield Throw, it may be worth considering removing Shield Throw from your deck a few worlds in, after you've built up another source of damage.
  • It is worth practicing aiming to hit certain tiles; without landing it reliably, Reva may struggle to achieve a high damage output in the early game, making the TimebombHazard and some battles more dangerous. It may be easier for some players to track backwards from the targeted tile and then position Reva as needed.
  • and cancel each other out. If you have both, you'll get the 140 HP heal at the start of battle, but will neither take damage nor gain shield when you move.

  • Reva's alternate loadout is focused on heavy use of to stay alive and deal damage. All of her starting spells have low mana costs, allowing her to spend mana on reflecting as necessary.
  • Reflecting will reflect the self-damage, firing a 40 damage shot and gaining 100 shield for 1 mana. This is an incredibly potent combo and critical to building up shield on Beat Reva.
  • is not worth deflecting, as it only does one damage. The main purpose of this spell is to deal 20 damage with
  • Judicious use of will allow you to tank multi-hit attacks easily and return significant damage with
  • Because Beat Reva does not have any built-in healing, it is still recommended to avoid health damage where possible. Reflecting is almost always better than using to deal damage.
  • will proc with every bounce off of yourself. This allows it to rack up insane amounts of damage quickly against stationary targets.
  • Because of Beat Reva's somewhat slow and methodical gameplan, and her excellent synergy with spells like and , you may wish to consider focusing and building a Poison Deck.
