Capture One Vs Dxo Photo Lab 2
- Clearly, one option (A) is to get LR CC and just learn the new features from LR 6. It's the easiest path, and I may do that as an initial cut. As mentioned, though, I'd like to look at other options. Especially since I get the feeling that DXO and Capture One may have better performance in dealing with processing photos.
- P.1 #6 p.1 #6 DxO Optics Pro or Capture One Pro Download the trials of LR5, C1 7Pro and PhotoNinja (raw processor, the beta is the latest) and look what output you prefer for landscape photography.
- I haven't tried DxO Pure RAW, but tried DxO DeepPrime with a trial version of Photolab 4. And, indeed it gives good results. You can get linear DNGs, which means that they can be processed in the same way as an original RAW. I didn't observe any limitation in the adjustments when going further to Capture One.
Yesterday DxO released PhotoLab 4 – a major update of their photo-editing software (see all key features here). A free trial can be downloaded here. The full press release is available here. During the launch, DxO has a special promo offer – 30% off on new purchases and upgrades (until November 19):
- DxO PhotoLab 4 ESSENTIAL Edition: $99.99 instead of $129
- DxO PhotoLab 4 ELITE Edition: $149.99 instead of $199
