Bitwarden is a free and open-source password management service that stores sensitive information such as website credentials in an encrypted vault. The Bitwarden platform offers a variety of client applications including a web interface, desktop applications, browser extensions, mobile apps, and a CLI. Bitwarden offers a cloud-hosted service as well as the ability to deploy the solution on. Bitwarden is the easiest and safest way to store all of your logins and passwords while conveniently keeping them synced between all of your devices. Password theft is a serious problem.

Bitwarden is a freemium libre password manager under AGPL license, allowing generation and storage of passwords in a secure way. These are protected by a single password called the 'master password'. It was created in 2016 by Kyle Spearrin, a software architect.
The software is available for most operating systems (GNU/Linux, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and command-line), and as a web browser plug-in. It is also possible to view passwords from a website.¹
